Labor Depot
The Precursor to the Business (1999–2011)
The foundation of Labor Depot was built on decades of experience in the Bristol staffing industry. Suzie Branson began her career in the industry in 1999 at S&G Labor. By 2003, she joined A1 Workforce as a Staffing Agent, where she developed a deep understanding of the local labor landscape. In 2011, her expertise led to the opening of A1 Bristol, an office operated under the A1 umbrella that allowed her to bring a more controlled and localized focus to the community.
The Idea That Led to Success (February 2016)
Seeking to provide a more independent and personalized service, Suzie Branson and her husband, Stacy Branson, founded Labor Depot in February 2016. The name was chosen to reflect an image positioning the agency as a definitive "depot" for work, much like the trusted household names that define the home and office sectors.
And So It Grew (2016–2020)
Labor Depot initially opened its doors at 44 Piedmont Avenue in Bristol. Over the next four years, the agency built a reputation for being the most reliable partner for both local businesses and job seekers. However, as the agency’s success grew, so did the need for a location that better served its workforce.
The Move to Euclid Avenue (2020–Present)
In 2020, Labor Depot transitioned to its current location at 1841 Euclid Avenue. This move was a strategic decision to prioritize accessibility for the workforce. The Piedmont location had become increasingly difficult for workers to access due to heavy local traffic and limited parking.
The Euclid Avenue hub offered a significant upgrade:
- Drive-Thru Accessibility: A unique feature for a staffing agency, allowing for efficient interactions and a more organized experience for those visiting the office.
- Ample Parking and Space: Ensuring that everyone seeking an opportunity has a stress-free environment to connect with the agency.
- Enhanced Service: The new location solidified Labor Depot's role as a supportive infrastructure for the Bristol area.
A Modern Community Institution
Today, Labor Depot remains a family-operated, independent agency. Suzie Branson continues to lead the office as Manager and Owner, ensuring that the high-touch, reliable service established in 2016 remains the core of the business. By combining veteran industry knowledge with modern accessibility and multi-generational technical support, Labor Depot continues to ensure that businesses thrive and the Bristol workforce remains strong.
